Now, we are looking for a Fire Protection Engineer in our office in Belgium.



He/she will be responsible for conducting fire protection design, fire safety audits, developing fire safety plans, support the design of remediation plans according to fire safety procedures and norms.



What is the role About?



  • Design passive and active fire protection systems for new and existing buildings, in compliance with local (Belgian) fire codes and regulations

  • Work in closed collaboration with discipline engineers (HVAC, Utilities, Electricity, Architect, structural and infrastructure engineers…) to insure a transversal view about the fire regulation.

  • Single point of contact with fire brigade & Administration & Fire Insurance
  • Perform site visits to assess the need for fire protection system upgrades or modifications.
  • Prepare detailed reports and risk analysis (Hazop, Hazid, FailureTrees, AMDEC,… )

  • Prepare cost estimates for proposed fire protection system designs or upgrade

  • Reviewing building plans to ensure compliance with fire safety codes.

  • Develop fire safety plans and evacuation procedures.

  • Keep abreast of new developments in fire protection technology and methods.

  • Inspecting facilities to determine fire hazards and recommending solutions to eliminate hazards.

  • Provide training to project managers and disciplined engineers to increase the knowledge in fire engineering.

  • Maintain records of fire protection system inspections and tests

  • Organization, planification and assistance for receptions of the installations with the notified bodies


Requirements

  • Master’s degree in fire protection engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field
  • Min. 5 years of experience in fire protection engineering
  • Thorough knowledge of building and fire Belgian codes
  • Familiarity with Belgian, European and NFPA standards
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills
  • Fluent in French or Flemish and English.
  • The works is foreseen in Belgium, regularly on different sites. Home-working partially possible.
