The successful candidate for this position will be a 1099 contractor with Music Ministry International and be responsible for the following:

Protestant Worship Team Leader at Brussels Main Chapel, Brussels, Belgium

General Information

1. General: This is a non-personal service(s) contract under which the personnel rendering the service(s) are not subject, either by the contract’s terms or by the manner of its administration, to the supervision and control usually prevailing in relationships between the Government and its employees.

1.1 Description of Services/Introduction: This is a non-personal service(s) contract to provide a Worship Team Coordinator Service for the Protestant congregation of the main chapel at U.S. Army Garrison Benelux, Brussels, Belgium.

1.2 Background: The services of a Musician fall under the USAG Benelux Chaplain’s Religious Support Program as defined in the Commander’s Master Religious Program (CMRP). The mission of the Chaplain’s Religious Support Program is to provide military religious support activities that meet the religious requirements of Soldiers, Families, and authorized civilians. Religious Support includes religious services; rites, sacraments, and ordinances; pastoral care/counseling; religious education; family life ministry, and clinical pastoral education. The primary goal of the Chaplains’ Religious Support Program is to insure the free exercise of religious preference. The purpose for contracting Worship Team Coordinator is to support the Chaplaincy's ministry by providing professional, technical assistance to bring quality worship services to the Soldiers and their Families who are worshipping together. As a non-personal services contractor, the Worship Team Coordinator is not a member of the Chapel Staff.

1.3 Scope: The Contractor shall provide non-personal service(s). The Contractor shall assume total responsibility for all requirements stated herein on the commencement date of the performance period. The Contractor shall perform as specified in this Contract. See also Paragraph 1.1 Introduction.

1.4 Objectives: Services provided shall be conducted in accordance with AR 165-1. All services under this contract are to be performed by the Worship Team Coordinator who can lead congregational worship music and play a piano, a keyboard, or a guitar during the regular and special Protestant Worship Services and Worship Team or Choir practice hours at Brussels Main Chapel.

1.5 Contractor Support Hours: The Contractor shall provide service when the Brussels Main Chapel, building 1, 2nd Floor is open. The facility will be unlocked for the worship services (0900-1300, Sunday). For the Praise Team or choir practice and preparation, the facility will be unlocked during the designated and coordinated hour of the week and weekend

1. 6 Place of Performance: The work to be performed under this contract will be performed at the Main Chapel, USAG Benelux-Brussels, building 1, Brussels, Belgium.

2.0 Special Qualifications:

a. Demonstrated ability to proficiently play piano and keyboard and/or guitar and sing.

b. Demonstrated ability to proficiently play all selections in the Armed Forces Hymnal and other hymnals and/or songbooks designated by the Chaplain of the congregation.

c. Demonstrated ability to organize a choir or worship team and lead during the rehearsal and the worship service.

d. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English for coordination with the Chaplain of the

Congregation for satisfactory completion of the administrative tasks required of a contractor.

e. Demonstrated understanding of the musical needs of the supported congregation.

f. All the above qualifications will be evaluated by the Chaplain of the Congregation.

3.0 SPECIFIC TASKS

3.1 Basic Services: The Worship leader shall provide Protestant musician services for the Protestant Worship Service at Brussels Main Chapel, building 1, 2nd Floor, Brussels, Belgium.

3.2 Tasks

Tasks consist of the following:

3.2.1. Recurring Services: The Worship leader shall play piano, keyboard, or guitar proficiently during the musical portion of the chapel worship service on Sunday or during other special occasions as required. The worship leader shall coordinate songs, hymns, and music for Brussels Protestant Main Chapel Worship Services with the Chaplain of the Congregation. The Worship leader is required to have the ability play piano, keyboard, or guitar proficiently. The Worship leader shall lead or accompany the singing of hymns, choruses, and spiritual songs; perform preludes; postlude; offertory; and background for meditation and prayers; that enhances the atmosphere of worship for the particular congregation. The Worship leader shall provide songs, hymns, and music in coordination of the Chaplain of the congregation and play piano, keyboard, or guitar as accompaniment for worship team or choir rehearsals.

a) The Worship leader shall play piano, keyboard, or guitar during the Sunday worship services as scheduled by the Government POC.

c) The Worship leader shall provide songs, hymn, and music in coordination of the Chaplain of the

Congregation for the Sunday worship services and the worship team or Choir rehearsals.

3.2.2 On-Demand Services: The Worship leader shall play piano, keyboard, or guitar during the musical portion of holiday, special, or related ad hoc worship services for special religious occasions or purposes. The worship leader shall accompany the singing of hymns, choruses, and spiritual songs; perform preludes; postlude; offertory; and background for meditation and prayers; that enhances the atmosphere of worship or ceremonies. The worship leader shall play piano, keyboard, or guitar for worship team or choir rehearsals. The worship leader shall provide selection of worship songs, hymns, or music for on-demand services and praise team or choir practices.

a) The Worship leader shall play piano, keyboard, or guitar during on-demand special services.
